Living in New York we are surrounded by vertical lines. Sometimes these lines excite us other times they motivate us. Often they may appear to be ladders we shall climb. If our choice is to climb these ladders and we were to get to the top, then what? Now we are surrounded by horizontal lines. What do they do to our emotions? Maybe they humble us, but still at other times they make us feel as if we are on top of the world. But reaching the top of these vertical ladders and viewing the horizontal lines of the world will always be temporary, no matter who you are. Because at some point you will have to come down and be with everyone else on the same level. The level of humanity. The level of nature. The level of the earth. The level of the sea. We all live on the same level and are a part of the same landscape.
